Research Interests

Dr. Giuliani's research focuses on how the body, particularly the autonomic nervous system, responds during challenging listening situations. His current research project explores whether these responses are altered in patients experiencing distressing tinnitus. His long term goals are to develop tools that will allow future research to 1) identify different subgroups of tinnitus distress, 2) differentiate the severity of tinnitus distress amongst etiologies such as blast exposure, traumatic brain injury (TBI), and PTSD, and 3) objectively measure therapeutics designed to reduce tinnitus distress.
